This paper was written for Comparative Literature 122, which I took as my First Year Writing Requirement.  The class focused on studying hipsters and, after talking a great deal about hipsters' longing for nostalgia, we were given the broad assignment to write a paper dealing with nostalgia.  After going through a couple of topics, I decided to look at the nostalgia for the nuclear family and use it as an argument as to why conservatives do not believe in marriage equality.  The following is the final copy of that paper.
