Re-Mediation

 

Our final major project was to re-mediate the re-purposing assignment.  We were supposed to take the exact same argument and rhetorical situation, but to put it into a different medium.  After creating my re-purposing blog, I decided to re-mediate it into a Buzzfeed article (a listicle).  The goal was to keep the argument but use all the typical Buzzfeed conventions (sarcasm, short statements, pictures/GIFs/videos, etc.) to turn the piece into something that would fit on Buzzfeed's website.  It took me a while to get all of the images, etc. to be what I wanted them to be.  It was difficult because I would either have a point I wanted to make and have to find exactly the right media to go with it or i would find a picture or GIF that I really liked and would have to figure out some way to fit it into the listicle.  I also had a hard time playing with the words to get the right mix of sarcasm and other Buzzfeed conventions while still sticking to my original argument.  It took a lot of editing and, sometimes, just starting at the draft of the article, trying to figure out what couple words would get my point across best.  Below is what finally came of all the edits, my Buzzfeed article.
